Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you will clear customs as first point of entry into South Africa. Your driver will then meet you for your transfer to your hotel, where you can settle in and relax after your travels. The remainder of this evening is at leisure.

Day 3 | DAVINCI Hotel & Suites, Nelson Mandela Square, Johannesburg
This morning, after breakfast, you will depart with your driver and guide on a full day excursion. You will meet your guide in the hotel lobby.
We head to Constitution Hill, a living museum that tells the story of South Africa’s transition from colonialism and apartheid to democracy. We then continue to Apartheid Museum before heading to Soweto for lunch. We will spend the afternoon exploring Soweto on foot. Soweto is South Africa’s biggest township. Visit Hector Pieterson Museum, Mandela House Museum and the famous Vilakazi Street, which is the only street in the world where two Nobel Prize winners lived: Nelson Mandela & Desmond Tutu. Afterward, you will be returned to your hotel and the remainder of the evening is at leisure.

Day 4 | DAVINCI Hotel & Suites, Nelson Mandela Square, Johannesburg
Please meet your guide in the hotel lobby at 08:30 for your tour to Lesedi Cultural Village.
Today we head to Lesedi Cultural Village, a tourist village which celebrates the cultural traditions of several different peoples of Southern Africa such as Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Basotho and Ndebele. It reproduces traditional dwellings and offers demonstrations of dances and other cultural activities. After the tour, the group will enjoy a traditional lunch. The group will be transferred back to the hotel in the afternoon, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 5 - 6 | Black Rhino Lodge, Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge or similar
This morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred by road to your lodge in the acclaimed Pilanesberg National Park, where you will spend the next two nights on safari on a full board basis in pursuit of the Big 5 and more! Enjoy delightful meals, game drives and bush walks with your stay.

Black Rhino Game Lodge is a hidden treasure set within a Tamboti forest at the foot of an ancient volcanic crater within the 58 000 ha Pilanesberg National Park. Each air-conditioned suite offers television, mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities and expansive bathrooms including an outdoor shower.

Day 7 | Commodore Hotel, Cape Town
After breakfast this morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your short two hour onward flight to Cape Town. When you arrive, your driver will meet you for transfer to your hotel.
After dropping your luggage at the hotel, we will then proceed with a city tour focusing on the District Six area and forced removal of people during Apartheid. You will visit the District Six Museum where the curator takes you on a walk through the museum giving guests a firsthand account of life growing up in District Six. We will proceed to the Company Gardens explaining the history of slavery in Cape Town, and where slaves had come from during Cape Town's Colonial days. We will visit the Bo-Kaap ( the Malay Quarter) exploring where it is that the "free men" and "free women" (skilled labour) were able to rent homes within the City precincts.
After lunch at the Biesmiellah Restaurant-Cape Malay Restaurant (included), Here you will sample some of the cuisine established in Cape Town. We will depart for the Townships to explore where most people in Cape Town live. You will have a better understanding of who live in these Townships today, who these townships were created for and why they had been established. You will also visit a Community Development project aimed at job creation and at the same time alleviating poverty. From the Skills Development Center you will embark on a walking tour of the Township where you will have an opportunity to interact with the locals and understand daily life living in a Township. After the walking tour we bid our local guide farewell and return to the City.
Tonight you will have time to explore the V&A Waterfront. You can shop, dine and take advantage of all the attractions the V&A Waterfront has to offer.

Day 8 | Commodore Hotel, Cape Town
Your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby after breakfast to depart for the Clock Tower Precinct at the V&A Waterfront for the ferry departing for Robben Island. The tour is conducted by the Robben Island Museum where you will depart from the Mainland via ferry for a 45-minute or so ride to Robben Island. On the island you will be met by a former inmate of the prison who will conduct a tour of the prison facility giving us a firsthand account of life as an inmate of the prison. After the tour of the Prison, we will board the coaches and be taken on a tour of the Island visiting the Solitary confinement area, lime and sand quarries, the warder's homes and the lighthouse. We will also be given a historical overview understanding the Island in terms of pre-Colonial, Colonial and Post-Colonial Cape Town.
After the island tour, we will again board the ferry and return to the V&A Waterfront Clock Tower precinct. Everyone can enjoy lunch before being taken on a brief orientation of the Waterfront. The guide will point out places of interest such as museums, galleries, the Aquarium as well as specialist stores.

Day 9 | Commodore Hotel, Cape Town
This morning after breakfast we will go on the most popular tour of Cape Town – a Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour. We will travel out along the Atlantic Seaboard through the ocean-front suburbs of Greenpoint, Seapoint, Bantry Bay, Clifton and Maidens Cove where we stop for the breathing taking views and to take pictures. After boarding the coach, we will depart for Maiden's Cove for Hout Bay via Camp's Bay and Llandudno. We arrive at Hout Bay before proceeding along the amazing Chapmans Peak Drive, stopping along the way for photos, and Cape Point. We arrive at Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope of the African continent. You can take the funicular and ride to the top lighthouse for the views, then visit the Cape of Good Hope, the South-Western-most point of the African continent. Upon return we board the coach and depart for Black Marlin where will stop for lunch before visiting Boulder's Penguin Colony in Simon's Town. We will take the short walk to the Penguin Colony, the natural breeding colony of the endangered African Penguin. We will depart Simon's Town heading along the False Bay Coast to Muizenberg where we take the M3 highway back to the City.

Day 10 | Commodore Hotel, Cape Town
After breakfast we will make our way to one of the 7 wonders of the New World, Table Mountain, where we will embark on a 30 minute discussion conducted by a park ranger of the park who will explain the history along with the flora and fauna. After Table Mountain, we will board the coach and make our way to an amazing little town in the Cape Wine Region called Fairview wine estate. This wine estate can be found in the town called Paarl. We will enjoy a master wine and cheese tasting. This is designed for those who enjoy fine wine experiences. After lunch, we visit the amazing University town of Stellenboch which is also the second oldest town in South Africa. Here we will enjoy a wine and chocolate pairing. Time permitting at Hidden Valley, we will try to fit in a cellar tour as well as a tasting. We will depart Stellenbosch for the City so that everyone can freshen up before having to depart for the farewell dinner at GOLD.
Tonight we will depart the hotel for Gold Restaurant for your Farewell dinner in the heart of Cape Town. You will enjoy wonderful African Cuisine while taking part in the entertainment provided for by this establishment. . The set 14 course Cape Malay and African menu that will transport you from Table Mountain to Timbuktu. On arrival, the marimba band will be entertaining you, visiting your table showing you the art of beating the Djembe drum. This culinary experience is accompanied by unique interactive traditional entertainment.

Day 11 | Travel to Victoria Falls
Depart your safari lodge early this morning for return to the airport in Johannesburg and onward flight to Zimbabwe, in pursuit of the mighty Victoria Falls! Upon arrival there, you will clear customs and obtain your visa directly at the port of entry. You will then be met for your shared transfer to your hotel.

US citizens must have a valid passport to travel to South Africa. No visa is required. Travelers to South Africa should make sure their passports have 6 months of validity after the planned date of departure from South Africa and a blank visa page for the entry and exit stamp.
Travel insurance is highly reccomended. An insuance quote will be provided once your registration form and deposit are received.
